The term paper must be either in MLA (Links to an external site.) or APA (Links to an external site.) formatting and you may use either citation method. The assignment must have a cover page and a reference/bibliography page. The term paper must be a minimum of six pages. This does not include your cover page or reference list.

Your Term Paper will have three parts.

First, describe the origin and history of the criminal justice system in the United States.

Second, explain the functions of the police, courts, and corrections in the United States.

Lastly, define the concept of crime and the major theories of criminal behavior.
