Assignment 6 –20 points–act out a job interview
The last assignment involves one type of interview: seeking a job. You and another student will act out an informational interview between a job seeker and an executive or worker. The job seeker will be asking most of the questions; the executive or worker will be giving most of the answers. Pair off with another student in the class. Decide who will be the job seeker, who will be the interviewee, and what type of job in what occupation or profession the interviewee will pretend to have.
Both partners (the interviewer and interviewee) must research both the occupation or profession and the job; rehearse outside class; and prepare to act out the interview in class. As part of the research, each individual must talk with a person who actually works in the occupation or profession. This person must not be a member of our class. Your joint presentation must be four to five minutes long.
Play it straight. Present your interview on a YouTube video..
You will be graded individually, based on your understanding of the informational interview, the questions or answers you develop, the quality and quantity of detailed and useful information you bring out, how well you follow directions, and the clarity and correctness of your written report.
